I had a horrid experience with my lawyer so I figured I’d write this little blurb…

Advice On Hiring The Right Lawyer…

When looking for a good Jacksonville criminal lawyer to represent you beware of the propaganda that some firms say in advertising.  If you look through the yellow pages of your local phone book you will see this.  It may look good to see that a certain firm has X-number in years of experience.  But the truth is you won’t be dealing with the firm as a whole, you will be dealing with an individual lawyer.  So that number of years of experience will not necessarily be the experience the lawyer you choose will have, but the combined experience of each lawyer on the firm.  You need to question the one attending you, find out how much experience they have aside from the firm as a whole.  If you have a particularly difficult case you will need someone with actual experience under their belt.  If it’s a fairly easy case to deal with, then a younger attorney would be fine.

When looking for a good law firm, it is not always the best thing to go with the biggest one out there.  Often the smaller ones will give you more personal attention.  Don’t judge a law firm by the photo in their advertisement either.  Many will have all of their clerks, secretaries and receptionist in the photo with them to make them look like a big team of lawyers.  The bottom line is you want an attorney who will focus on you and your case and work to resolve the issues at hand in a timely manner.  When interviewing for an attorney don’t be shy about asking about these things.  It’s your money, so spend it wisely by hiring one you know will take good care of you.
